O Canada! Canada Day at Golding's

Golding's Free Dive invites all Canadians and FOCs (friends of Canadians) to come and celebrate Canada Day 2015 on Wednesday July 1st.

You'll have the pleasure of mingling with real Canadians whilst enjoying Canadian themed decoration, music, movies, beverages and traditional fare. We will be featuring some tasty treats made by us here at Golding's, as well as contributions from Leeds Street Bakery and Wild & Woolly Brewing Co.

Make sure you bring your best denim, plaid, toques and all things red and white, and if we like your outfit you may get something special! We look forward to seeing you all here to celebrate the great country of Canada.

Beer is Love, eh!

International Sculpin Day

We’re happy to announce that our friends at Beer Without Borders have got their hands on very limited supplies of three different versions of Ballast Point Sculpin!

To celebrate, we’ll be taking part in National Sculpin Day. On Friday (24 April) we’ll be pouring Sculpin, Grapefruit Sculpin, and Habanero Sculpin.

Supplies are strictly limited, and will be going fast!

Golding’s Free Dive Turns Two!

It’s our second birthday! Come help us celebrate our second anniversary this coming Saturday (25 April).

As per last year, we’ll be turning our staff loose on our taps. Each staff member will nominate one beer to put on tap. Unlike last year, where we collaborated to have a balanced lineup, this year it’s a free-for all, with absolutely no restrictions on what they could choose.

So come on down and share a their favourite beers with your favourite bartenders.

Will it be a Peckham’s Indian Summer with Steve? A Victory at Sea with Owen? Perhaps a Gunnamatta with Phil, a Superconductor with Sean, a Kereru Velvet Boot with Béatrice or a Renaissance Stonecutter with Gen?

It might even be some of the last ever keg of Silver Cat Angry Gummy Bear White Stout with Dylan…

There will also be rolling beer specials throughout the afternoon.

See you on Saturday. And remember, as it’s ANZAC day, trading kicks off at 1pm.

Guten Tag: Tiamana Brewery Launch

Many of you will have heard of the elusive ‘Tiamana Brew’ the Wellington microbrewery with a distinctly Berlin flavour to it. Some of you may even have tied a sneak-peak their beer at the Pacific Beer Expo or Greater Wellington Brew Day.

Tiamana is the project of Berlin Native Annika Naschitzki, who has been building a brewery in central Wellington for the last year. Now it’s time for it to go live.

A range of German inspired beers will be hitting taps at Golding’s Free Dive from 5pm this Saturday. To mark the occasion, we’ll also be serving traditional German delicacies - Currywurst and Gummibaerchen!

Ich freue mich!

Dia Del Los Muertos 2014

It’s that day again: Dia Del los Muertos; Day of the Dead. The day when the spirits of loved ones are said to return and the day we raise our thoughts and our glasses to them. It is of course, also the day that Garage Project releases their infamous duo of Mexican inspired brews to mark the occasion.

Those of you who were in Wellington for Dia Del Los Muertos last year will remember the fiesta Garage Project and the Golding’s team threw, and you be happy to hear this time we are making it even better

This year we’ll be taking over the Hannahs Laneway to make it a proper Mexican street festival! We’ve teamed up with La Boca Loca, the Wellington Chocolate Factory, Scopa Caffe Cucina, Pizza Pomodoro, Red Rabbit Coffee Co., the Egmont St. Eatery, and The Leed Street Bakery to host a whole bunch of pop up food stands. And the Garage will have a pop-up can bar!

But that’s not all.

We’ve also got music from Wellington’s hottest Latin American, Carlos Navae, and Wellington’s prodigal adopted son, Adam Page, who will be helping us get down and festive.

Finally, an important part of Day of the Dead is dressing up, so remember costumes and facepaint, or come down and get your face painted by us!

Celebrations will be starting from 2pm on Saturday November 1st at Golding’s Free Dive. See you then!
