ParrotDog Microflora Launch

Be among the first to try Parrotdog's latest beer series on tap. Microflora is a series of kettle-soured beers brewed to celebrate those invisible but indispensable organisms crucial to so much in ecology, health — and cuisine. Here, they’ve created a clean acidity that gives us a canvas on which to experiment with flavour.

Beers hit tap 5pm November 29.

Specimen A
Specimen A begins with a very pale malt base that includes a touch of wheat, acidified by strains of Lactobacillus. A saison yeast then ferments the beer down dry (and adds a hint of spice) before we add a heap of Nelson boysenberries — a surprisingly-recent hybrid of various berries from the Rubus genus with a tart fruit flavour and striking maroon hue.

Specimen B
Specimen B takes a simple pale malt base and ferments it with an equally straightforward ale yeast, so as not to overshadow the work already done in the brew kettle by Lactobacillus, and finishes with a significant dry-hopping from several varieties of Humulus lupulus. An uncommon but uncomplicated combination, focused on the interplay between bacterial tartness and citrus hop flavours.

Featuring wines from The Hermit Ram, Framingham Wines, Tom Shobbrook, Cambridge Road Vineyard, Lucy Margaux, Jauma Wine, and Commune of Buttons!

Also appearing: Tears for Spears, an asparagus pop-up!

Golding's Turns Four

Four years already? Gosh it’s gone past quick! So many pizzas and bags of Cheezels, so much beer through the taps, and many good times with great people, both staff and customers!

On Saturday first of April, we’ll be marking our fourth birthday in our traditional manner - by opening up our taps up to our staff to choose one beer each. There will be rolling beer specials, and best of all, Pizza Pomodoro is open from 3pm. We might even shout you a couple of slices!

Golding's Third Birthday

It’s three years since we first opened our doors to the people of Wellington!

It’s been a lot of good beer, a lot of Cheezels and so many great times! Come help us celebrate with more beer, more extruded corn, and even more fun.

As per tradition, we’ll be turning our taps over to the staff, who will be choosing a beer each to put on tap. Come on down and share their favourite beer with your favourite bartender!

Pizza Pomodoro is open all day. There will be rolling beer specials, and all the bottomless corn-snacks you can handle!

Event starts midday, Saturday 23 April.
